LOWER ORDER FIGHTS BACK FOR ENGLAND:
The first test of the 5 match Ashes series between England & Australia ended in a draw, after a spirited fight back from the English lower order. James Anderson and Monty panesar played the innings of their life negotiating 11.3 overs for 39 mins with each ball cheered loudly by the Ashes crazy English crowd. When Paul collingwood fell for a 245 ball 74, England were trailing by 6 runs and the clock was ticking away for Australia who wanted to wrap up the last wicket so they dont have to bat again. Eventually England went pass the Aussie total with a boundary from James Anderson, match ended in draw when England were 13 runs ahead.
Earlier, England started the day losing their best batsmen Kevin Peterson and captain Andrew Strauss when the scores were showing 31 & 46 respectively. With England losing wickets at one end, Paul collingwood lead the English fight back, with vital support from Broad & Swann, who manged to play 110 balls combined. With the first match ending in a draw it's again evenstevens for both teams when they meet in the second test
